Alexis Mabille - Autumn Winter 2013-2014 Haute Couture Collection in Paris

Inspired by Giovanni Boldoni, Alexis Mabille transports his couture to the 19th century, where the Italian painter creates his portrayals with evocative and precise dots of paint. So the couturier adds some hand-made traits on duchess satin trousers, as well as on the sleeves of blouses. A long organza dress with a black cashmere strip attracts attention and is successful thanks to its simplicity, but what can be said about some of the sheath dresses, rather voluminous, with bouffant sleeves….Passing by the delicateness of Boldini to a certain contemporary style, perhaps only missing finally a bit of romanticism…
