Burberry Prorsum Women's Fall/Winter 2014/15 Collection in London (with itw)

As ever, the Burberry show bursts with magic. Upon arriving at the famous Kensington Park, the white tent erected for the show stops every passerby. Inside, seated on assigned stools, the crowd whips out their phones in an attempt to snapshot every second, especially the arrival of celebrities like Harry Styles. Models strut in time to Paloma Faith’s live vocals. Make way for Cara Delevigne who opens the show. Enormous coats in leather, suede and shearling are bedecked with flowers prints, all hand-made by painters of the Burberry ateliers. Long dresses float on air. The look is chic and unpretentious. Foulards fall across the front of belted coats. Mirroring the label’s latest masculine collection, enveloping blankets can be personalized with embroidered initials…ultimate luxury is tastefully and elegantly reinterpreted by Christopher Bailey, artistic director and Chief Creative Officer of Burberry Prorsum.Interview:Christopher Bailey:I like that idea of intimacy and I had been looking into the Bloomsbury group, this group of artists and writers and painters and what I wanted to do was to capture that idea of creativity and hand-painted pieces with the bags and the shoes and the coats but then over the top of it have these Scottish cashmere blankets that protected you as well. This collection gets delivered in August-September so there is lots of wear now also in Europe but you must remember that in November and December when it is freezing cold here, the other half of the world is boiling hot. You might have these very strong outerwear pieces but then you have very soft feminine pieces underneath.Harvey Weinstein:It is fantastic. He is a genius, Christopher Bailey. It is beautifully done, beautifully produced and the clothes are gorgeous.Paloma Faith:It is very different from a concert because you don’t expect to hear clapping or people shouting and suddenly when you realise that it so serious and I was a bit shocked! When Cara was walking towards me at the end, she made a face!Music from the fashion show
