Designer : kate phelanmood : tophsop is set within a space in the heart of the old spitafields market, situated in east london, a boutique pop, une boutique pop up already to sell the collection presented today. here the concept "see now, buy now" was taken a step further. the designer is inspired by outdoor markets, which are very famous in london, particularly in the 80s , where you would go to find hidden gems to create your own look focus on : high waisted trousers, zebra print, vinyl and the going out dresses which the english are crazy about to note : taylor hill, the girl of the moment, is the face of the brand which opens the showinterview with kate phelan: these girls are power, their power for girls power for women they are like the new supermodels, we wanted them to feel really strong and in control and really beautiful and to feel amazing because that’s what clothes do they’re all there to make you feel good. and this season the show and being here and the market is going back to the days when everyone bought fashion back in the markets especially in london we had famous markets like hyper hyper and kensington market, and the great gear market and camden market where you could buy everything from army surplus to party dresses. so it was the idea of bringing back the market stall again which we thought was a nice energy especially because we are working on some of the collection being able to buy straight away it was all part of how can we make this really accessible how can we make this really available to everyone.the last show had the leopard prints so this season the move on was doing the zebra. it’s there as a graphic really strong powerful message. the vinyl brings you back to those days which felt more punky but this girl is still pretty in her punky clothesmusic from the show (only to be used in the context of the show, protected by the right to information.)
