London shines during its week of fashion, be it on the streets with all styles imaginable or in the shows. four days full of events and short effective shows, with energy and humour to spare. examples can be seen at molly goddard with her party queens who came to show cigarette on the lips and glass in hand, and at house of holland with his pirate girls who take us away to a cheery summer. mary katrantzou gets back to the world of childhood through her poetic creations. above all else, london is prone to creativity, renewed each season, blending personal stories, reflection on the world and arty inspirations, with beautiful examples at jonathon anderson through his silhouettes which blend a play on materials with movement. alternatively at christopher kane with his new heroines who are both romantic and sensual. as for the house of burberry, the big tent of 1000 guests was abandoned in favour of a much more intimate show, in an 18th century house with a collection where burberry check has never seemed so cool. next to the classic british labels in london are the on trend italians with, most notably, the presence of donatella versace for the versus show which blew the crowd away with its glam’rock boys and girls whilst giorgio armani made the trip to england for the first time for his second emporio armani line which featured no less than a hundred models. without forgetting the stylist and creative director at diesel, nicola formichetti, who also chose the british capital to show his eponymous brand nicopanda, celebrating genderless fashion and the freedom to be more daring… a strong leitmotif that resonated with every show in london. tommy hilfiger dares more than anything in closing london fashion week. the tommy tour made a stopover in the neighborhood of camden with celebrities in the front row and on the catwalk. gigi is a guest star with her capsule collection. an electric atmosphere and a concert from the chainsmokers properly celebrates the english capital. music free from rights / bandit & nikit / 2017
