Chanel - Women's Spring/Summer 2019 Collection (with interviews)

Artistic Director: Karl LagerfeldAmbiance: At the beach for Chanel with a blue sea and fine sand under the glass roof of the Grand Palais. Models descend through the beach and walk bare foot through the water. A souvenir from the Island of Sylt in Germany, where as a child Karl Lagerfeld spent his holidays…Collection: Reminiscent of summer, the sun and sun cream. With a multitude of suit proposals and side slit skirts which give us a glimpse of a short worn underneath. Jackets become shorter and silhouettes are decorated with glitter and bright silver like grains of sand. The Chanel logo is placed on accessories such as belts, caps and straw hats, earrings, cuffs and mules. The colour palate is soft, composed of pastel tones with occasional bright touches such as a sun yellow colour. The lining of certain silhouettes is decorated with abstract patterns. Parasol motifs and stripes referencing a summer spent by the beach are placed on small strapped dresses. Navy blue lace is prominent throughout this wardrobe. Without forgetting the sporty touch with cycling shorts and the Coco Beach line with their colorful swimsuits.Note: The quilted Chanel bag worn as a set of two with straps over each shoulder, the shell bag, the balloon bag, the PVC bag with its pearl handle and numerous beach sandals. In the first row: Pharrell Williams, Caroline de Maigret Pamela Anderson, Vanessa Paradis and Ines de La Fressange amongst others.Interview with Huber Barrère: A lot of freshness and lightness, Chanel forever… we had the sun shining throughout the whole collection when we imagined the embroideries for Karl.Interview with Soo Joo Park:Chanel is the strong female that is stylish and has her own agenda.Interview with Mathilde Warnier:It’s the free women, it’s the trouser, it’s the achievement of oneself, of you, of your ideas, it is about wearing your ideas, Chanel is all of this, and it’s the entire women with her bad character…Interview with Kiddy Smile:I have always loved accessories, in general I love accessories, and a lot of Chanel logos, I also liked the transparent sandals, but what was super interesting in the collection was that everything, as usual, was effortless, it is easy but chic!Interview with Ines de la Fressange:We felt on holiday, and it makes you want to return and especially, makes you want to dress in Chanel.Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
