Creative director: tory burchinspiration: downtown manhattan in the south of the city, at the water’s edge with a view of brooklyn bridge is where tory burch chose to show with impeccable women. he took inspiration from black mountain college open and experimental college in north carolina that shed light on the world of art between the 30s to the 50s. without forgetting, the front row composed of liya kebede, naomi watts, zoe saldana and isabelle huppert. collection: feminine and chic. the designer reinterprets big coats and suits with elegance borrowed from the male wardrobe. it reminds us of the 50s mixed with a touch of the 70s where everything has an attitude even in a simple checked trouser or jean paired with a perfect jumper. jackets and coats are adorned with detailed fastenings and golden buttons. dresses blend into pleats, floral prints, in chiffon and silky crêpes de chine.note: kaftan dresses strewn with sequins + accessories such as the new bag and heeled boots in transparent plexi as well as gold or silver shoes.interviews :tory burch : we really thought about femininity and sort of the freedom of expression and being feminine but sensual and also refined.we like the dichotomy of feminine and masculine but also i like, i’m a tomboy at heart, but i want to be feminine and classic in spirit, so how do you… we thought a lot about how you take classic ideas, but take them further and make them modern and interesting.the shoes and the ones i’m wearing are from the mary jane, but i love the boots, and then i love the sneaker as well, but that handbag is something that we put a lot of thought into because we took the lee radziwill bag and then deconstructed it and input layers and that sort of referenced the black mountain college of eclectic, just irreverence. pierre-yves roussel : i obviously knew the company quite well from the outside through tory, and i have always been interested in it because we met each other as we were both interested in investing in the company. therefore, i have always had a connection with their products, with their aesthetic and with their unique and particular history. this has always pleased me. there is a strong culture within the brand which was created around its own values that i share so it’s quite a unique structure.music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
